Norenta — Tools, HSE, HR, QA and internal control

Norenta is HSE and internal control software for businesses in Norway: the registers an employer is required to keep, the deadlines that follow from them, and the deviations that come up along the way. One product, one price, everything included.

What it is

A Norwegian employer has to be able to document its internal control. Norenta keeps that documentation as registers rather than as documents: employees and their qualifications, courses and certificates with expiry dates, equipment and vehicles with inspection dates, written procedures, risk assessment, deviations, absence and holiday. Every date gets a status, and what is due shows up on one dashboard.

The eight areas

All eight are in every installation. There is no smaller edition and no module to add later.

Tools, equipment and vehicles. Shared tools on a three-digit label, lent out from a tablet on the storeroom wall or from a phone; calibration and servicing with a deadline each; personal equipment per employee; vehicles with the date of the next periodic inspection.
Competence and courses. Trade certificates, safety training, courses and safety cards with expiry dates and the proof attached, one row per employee and one column per requirement.
Deviations. Reported with a photo from the phone, with a deadline from day one, and impossible to close without a cause and someone verifying that the measure worked.
Inspection file. The papers an inspection asks for, printed from the registers at export time. Ten sections, ready to print.
Internal control and quality assurance. Company-wide procedures and templates, scheduled checks, quality deviations and customer complaints. Assign owners and follow up dates. Documentation for individual jobs stays in your order system.
Absence and holiday. Self-certified and certified sick leave, leave of absence and holiday in one register; the follow-up plan and the dialogue meeting the national insurance scheme requires become deadlines on their own.
Personnel records. Contract of employment and documents per employee, appraisal meetings with preparation, minutes and measures that get a deadline, shown only to the person's immediate manager; the managing director can include them in the complete data export.
The app. What employees do themselves: report a deviation, register absence, add a course certificate, borrow and return a tool, read the procedures — from the browser on a phone. The safety representative also sees deviations, safety rounds, the risk assessment, protective equipment and gaps in training. A separate module with more tools for the role is in the works.

Who it is for

Small and medium-sized businesses in Norway, including firms with only a handful of employees. The buyer is usually the managing director — the one who today keeps track of employees, courses, equipment and procedures in binders, spreadsheets and memory.

Norenta comes with a ready set-up for five industries: car workshops, electrical, mechanical workshops, transport, and plumbing and HVAC (in Norwegian). You choose yours when you order, and the course catalogue, templates and starter documents follow it.

What it is not

Norenta does not do orders, time tracking, invoicing, payroll or accounting. Use your existing systems for those tasks.

Norenta has no ready-made connection to your payroll or order management system. You maintain the employee list in both systems and transfer holiday and absence information to payroll yourselves.

Quality assurance in Norenta is at company level: procedures, recurring checks, quality issues and customer complaints, with responsibilities, deadlines and history. Documentation for individual jobs belongs in the order management system.

What it costs

Norenta costs NOK 49 per active employee per month, billed as NOK 588 per active employee for a 12-month term. The minimum charge is for 10 employees: NOK 5 880 per year. A firm with 12 employees pays NOK 7 056 per year.

The price covers the whole system: every register, every user, and the mobile app for your employees.

If you grow beyond the number of employees your invoice is based on, you add them yourself. Each employee above that number costs NOK 49 per month from the month you add them, and goes on your next invoice. If you have fewer than 10 employees, your invoice is based on 10.

The term is twelve months. Tell us within 30 days of the first invoice and you get the annual amount back.

Optional start-up assistance costs NOK 7 500 once for up to 30 employees, or NOK 10 000 for more than 30. You upload your existing lists and documents after signing in. We enter the records, check them and deliver a report within seven calendar days after receiving what we need. The charge is on the first invoice only and is not refunded.

The regulation it is built on

The Internal Control Regulations (opens on another site) — section 5 lists what has to be documented in writing: objectives, organisation and responsibility, risk assessment, routines for finding and correcting deviations, and a systematic review. How it is run

Each customer runs as its own instance with its own database on servers in Germany (Hetzner, Falkenstein), inside the EEA.
The database and attachments are backed up every night, starting the first night after set-up. We confirm the first backup by email on request. Each copy is encrypted on the server before upload to Hetzner Storage Box in Helsinki. The recovery key is kept off the server. Norenta's computer in Norway downloads only encrypted copies.
On 21 September 2026, we retrieved and decrypted a backup and checked the databases. We have not rebuilt a complete server as a running service in a drill, and have not measured the time that takes.
Managers sign in with their mobile number, a password and an SMS code; employees sign in to the app with their mobile number and an SMS code.
Employees use a mobile web app — opened in the browser and added to the home screen. No app store, no separate price for the app, and no company email address required for people who do not have one.
The public information pages set no cookies and load nothing from third parties; details are in the cookie notice.
